InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort was honoured in three categories at the World Travel Awards 2018 which took place in Libson, Portugal on Saturday.

Developed by BIM Land, a subsidiary of Vietnamese diversified conglomerate BIM Group, Intercontinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort received awards as the World’s Leading New Family Resort 2018, the World’s Leading New Luxury Resort 2018 and the World’s Leading New MICE Resort 2018.

Piero Bellizzi, general manager of the InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort, said: “It’s our honour to receive three prestigious prizes presented by the World Travel Awards in our first year of operation. A representative from BIM Land said that InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort got top scores in the eyes of customers thanks to its complete construction before it opened for sale. “We are proud of the co-operation between BIM Land and the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) in bringing InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort - a world-recognised resort to Phu Quoc Island. BIM Land will continue to pursue the strategy of co-operating with leading world brands in developing destinations, which will help promote luxury tourism and leverage the Vietnamese luxury tourism to a new height.”

InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort was put into operation in June, becoming the 1,000th property of IHG to open in Europe, Middle East, Asia and Africa.

The annual World Travel Awards, launched in 1993 by Graham E. Cooke, recognise the best services provider in the tourism industry.

BIM Land was named among the top ten tourism property developers in Viet Nam with a land bank of more than 5,600 sq.km in Ha Long, Phu Quoc, Ha Noi and Laos.

During its 25 years of development, the group has expanded its operations into four main businesses; tourism infrastructure development and real estate investment, renewable energy, agriculture-food and commercial services. — VNS
