Shortly after opening two major distribution centres in Ha Noi and HCM City, food retailer Homefarm has set a goal to operate 300 outlets across the country in 2022.
"The biggest hurdle for food retailers is to ensure a stable supply of high-quality and certifiable products," said Homefarm's co-founder and CEO Tran Van Truong.
The country's billion-dollar food retail market still has a lot of room to grow as Viet Nam's middle and upper-middle-class increase in size. Consumers have also become increasingly aware of and concerned about food safety and international standards, according to the CEO.
Retailers must go ahead of the trend by not just offering high-quality products but also providing a convenient shopping experience with modern outlets, online sales channels and home delivery services. — VNS
