Property developer Gamuda Land HCMC JSC (Gamuda Land) has granted scholarships to 100 outstanding students at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in HCM City worth VND500 million (US$21,500).

The ‘Back to school’ scholarship is a part of ‘GLCares,’ a CSR activity the company has been implementing for the last six months to help mitigate the effects of the COVID-19 outbreak.

It has donated 600 beds to Field Hospital No 8 and 600 sets of medical protective clothing to the COVID-19 Resuscitation Center in HCM City for the benefit of frontline personnel.

Gamuda Land and its employees donated more than VND330 million ($12,900) to the Government’s COVID-19 Vaccine Fund.

Amid the strict social distancing restrictions earlier this year, to directly support disadvantaged people severely affected by the pandemic, Gamuda Land provided food and financial support to thousands of people in Tan Phu and neighbouring districts.

It also donated 330kg of rice and other essential food items like eggs, milk, vegetables, and instant noodles to five shelters that have over 300 orphaned children and people with disabilities.

Established in 1995, Gamuda Land is the property development arm of Gamuda Berhad, one of the leading engineering, construction and infrastructure groups in Malaysia.

After entering the Viet Nam market in 2007, it has developed two townships, the 274ha Gamuda City in Hoang Mai District, Ha Noi, and 82ha Celadon City in Tan Phu District, HCM City. — VNS
