Emirates has appointed Marwan Al Marri as the airline’s new country manager in Viet Nam, effective from November 1.
The announcement comes as the largest international airline continues to ramp up its global operations amid the ongoing easing of entry restrictions and the gradual recovery of international air travel.
Marwan Al Marri will lead the Emirates’ commercial operations and bring his skills and experience to drive growth and develop new strategies in the market.
“Viet Nam has always been one of our most strategic markets. We commend the country’s efforts in rebuilding its travel and tourism sector, and look forward to continue contributing to it by promoting it as the popular destination that it is. We see inbound traffic recovering, and are glad to be a driving force in flying for both business and leisure travellers from around the globe,” said Marwan.
“Since the reopening of tourism in mid-March, we have boosted our frequency of daily flights from Ha Noi and HCM City to over 130 destinations among our extended global network,” added Marwan.
After graduating with a bachelor degree in Business Administration and a higher diploma in Finance & Accounting, Marwan started his career as a management trainee at HSBC in 2011 and became a Commercial Relationship Manager. From 2014, he joined Emirates and has held various positions before being promoted to Country Manager for Viet Nam.
Marwan, who has eight years of experience in the aviation industry, promises to bring a breath of fresh air to the Emirates team in Viet Nam, as well as to seek out new commercial opportunities and drive revenue growth in the market. — VNS
