DHL eCommerce, a division of the global logistics company Deutsche Post DHL Group, has launched a new domestic delivery service called DHL eCommerce for companies in the e-commerce sector.
On the launch day in HCM City on Monday, the company said the new service would be offered across the country to meet the demand of the booming e-commerce industry and to help online traders and marketplaces to increase their market share in the rapidly growing e-commerce segment.
The service is managed by hubs and depots strategically located throughout the country.
The new service provides next-day delivery in HCM City and Ha Noi as well as other primary markets, thanks to its fleet of vans and bikes as well as regular air and road connections between hubs.
Under the new service, cash on delivery will be available through DHL eCommerce’s online portal, allowing faster remittances and simpler management of shipment information.
Consumers will also be able to open, check and return goods at the point of receipt thanks to DHL’s Open Box Delivery service, better aligning the online shopping experience with their preferred purchasing habits.
“The Vietnamese e-commerce market represents a huge and relatively untapped potential for local retailers, e-tailers and marketplaces. In 2016, total e-commerce spending hit US$1 billion even though only slightly more than 50 per cent of the population are online,” said Charles Brewer, CEO of DHL eCommerce.
“With e-commerce spending expected to grow at around 23 per cent per year between now and 2020, local e-tailers need scalable, high-quality logistics solutions with nationwide coverage more than ever before,” he added.— VNS
