De Heus officially inaugurated its De Heus Cần Thơ aquatic feed factory in Trà Nóc II Industrial Park, Ô Môn District of Cần Thơ City on September 26.

The US$18.6 million invested factory has a capacity of 240,000 tonnes of aquafeed products yearly. This is the sixth aquafeed factory of De Heus worldwide, focusing on producing and providing high-quality foods for pangasius and basa fish.

At the event, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phùng Đức Tiến praised investment projects of De Heus Group in Việt Nam over the past many years.

“De Heus's aquatic feed factory is very modern, all stages are automated, and the input control process is extremely strict. I think this is the decisive step in controlling food for pangasius to meet food safety standards for export," said Tiến.

According to of the MARD, Việt Nam aims to export seafood to a turnover of more than $10 billion, in which the pangasius segment occupies an important position. In 2022, pangasius exports reached $2.47 billion. — VNS
