DAS Capital, an investment fund from the US, plans to invest US$150 million in Tan Tao Group, in a move to become the group’s strategic partner.

In the first phase, the US fund will buy about $20 million worth of Tan Tao’s shares, after the two sides agree to the purchase agreement, Tan Tao said in a statement.

In a working session with Tan Tao Group earlier this week, a DAS Capital representative, Nebojsa Micic Micko said this was the first time his fund decided to invest in Viet Nam.

Headquartered in Los Angles, DAS Capital has also opened branches in several Asian countries and territories such as Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Japan and Malaysia.

Listed on the HCM Stock Exchange, Tan Tao Group specialises in various sectors including industrial zone development, energy, infrastructure development, health-care and education. — VNS
