More than 10,000 people, including artists and celebrities, participated in Gamuda’s charity race on Saturday, “Run for the Heart 2016”, at LePARC by Gamuda.

Continuing the event’s success in HCMC, this charity run has raised over VND2.6 billion (US$116,000) for children born with congenital heart defects.

This is the four time Gamuda Land has cooperated with HeartBeat Vietnam to organize the charity run, and the second time it has been held in Hanoi.

The amount raised, VND2.6 billion, was transferred to HeartBeat Vietnam to assist children who need heart operations.

With the purpose of helping children born with heart defects, Gamuda’s “Run for the Heart” has been an annual event organised by Gamuda Land and HeartBeat Vietnam since 2013. The run not only promotes helping children, but also raises the public’s awareness about the importance of physical activities to reduce the risk of heart disease. After four years, the program has attracted more than 49,000 participants, raised nearly VND10.7 billion and helped pay for operations for 420 children, according to officials. — VNS
