High-tech agricultural company Hung Nhon Group on Monday began construction of its DHN high-tech breeding farm in Tan Chau District in the southern province of Tay Ninh at a cost of VND200 billion (US$8.5 million).

The 40ha farm will be completed in the first quarter of next year with a capacity of producing 20 million poultry eggs per year.

It is part of the VND2.5 trillion ($107 million) high-tech agriculture complex that Hung Nhon and De Heus Group committed to set up in Tay Ninh.

According to an MoU they signed, they will develop a high-tech livestock value chain in 2022-30, Hung Nhon will invest in modern, large-scale livestock farms that meet advanced global standards, and De Heus will supply quality pig and chicken varieties.

The complex’s capacities are targeted to breed about 10,000 pigs, 200,000 commercial sows and 58 million breeder chickens and 25 million broiler chickens. Revenues of around $2 billion are expected annually.

Hung Nhon Group, with more than 20 years of development experience, has grown into a diversified corporation with strengths in large-scale livestock production and technology with a closed process from genetics and feed to processing and slaughtering according to ISO, global GAP, and other international standards. — VNS
