HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — Companies in HCM City are welcoming the Lunar New Year holiday by organising programmes to support the disadvantaged.
Last week, food producer KIDO Group handed out 2,000 gifts worth a total of VNÐ500 million (US$23,000) to disadvantaged children living in social centres and SOS centres in the city.
The company also presented more than 1,620 bus tickets to female workers working in Ha Noi, Hung Yen, HCM City and Binh Duong Province so they could return to their hometowns in 11 provinces during the holiday.

Earlier, the group officially opened a new bridge in Thu Thua District in the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta province of Long An. This was the fifth bridge invested in by KIDO.
In a related matter, the Hoa Sen Group, which makes steel, said it would organise its annual charity entertainment programme to support nearly 2,000 disadvantaged children and students who cannot return home for Lunar New Year.
The programme includes entertainment events such as a music show with celebrities, 3D films at cinemas and games. Free food will also be offered. — VNS
