Central Retail Vietnam handed over a multi-purpose sports hall to the Phương Thạnh Secondary School in Trà Vinh Province’s Càng Long District on November 14.
Nguyễn Thị Hồng, head of CSR at the group, said it provided more than VNĐ1.2 billion (US$49,088) for the facility, including VNĐ680 million ($27,826) for the construction and VNĐ600 million ($24,556) worth of its Supersports brand goods and sports equipment.
Through the donation, the group sought to strengthen its relations with the local community, she said.
Hàng Thị Mai Anh, principal of the school, said the new hall would be used for sports and cultural activities for more than 700 students, enabling their comprehensive development and the school to achieve the level 2 standard of the Ministry of Education and Training.
The sports facility has been built as part of Central Retail Vietnam’s "One shopping center - One school" project it has been actively implementing.
It has so far provided more than VNĐ7 billion to 11 elementary, middle and high schools to provide better facilities to 7,000 students. — VNS
