The Bac Giang People’s Committee and Central Retail Vietnam on Wednesday jointly organised a conference aimed at promoting the consumption of the province’s lychees in 2023.
This event was organised in line with the cooperation agreement signed between Central Retail Vietnam and the Bac Giang People's Committee on May 16.
During the conference, a representative from Central Retail Group shared their experiences in promoting lychee consumption and announced the signing of a cooperation agreement with cooperatives from Luc Ngan District. Additionally, they conducted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the arrival of a convoy transporting lychee to their system, including GO!, Big C, Top Market and exports to Thailand.
Nguyen Thi Bich Van, the Communication Director of Central Retail Vietnam, expressed her belief that this commitment would contribute to Viet Nam's prosperity and enhance the quality of life for the Vietnamese people.
"We have been working closely with Hai Duong and Bac Giang provinces, and we are committed to achieving a 30 per cent increase in lychee consumption compared to last year. To accomplish this, we will launch significant promotions throughout June and July," she stated.
Central Retail aims to promote consumption of 300 tonnes of Luc Ngan-Bac Giang lychee this year.
For several months, Central Retail's purchasing team has provided guidance to businesses and cooperatives on the necessary requirements and procedures for integrating lychee and other important agricultural products into Central Retail's food retail supermarket system.
On June 15, Central Retail and the Tien Giang People's Committee will organise the Viet Nam Fruit Festival to cater to consumers in the Southwest region, showcasing the exquisite Bac Giang lychee. — VNS
