Central Retail launches non-profit pork sale programme

GO!/Big C, a member of Central Retail, has launched a non-profit fresh pork sale programme to support the pork market and consumers, especially the disadvantaged, during the coming Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday.

The programme runs from January 1 (more than one month before Tet) with all fresh pork cuts such as bacon, shoulder blade, cutlet and ham leg, except Meat Deli fresh pork.

The prices for bacon, ham leg, spare rib and cutlet are VND152,900, VND113,900, VND169,000 and VND132,000 per kilogramme at Big C Thang Long, Long Bien (Ha Noi), VND134,100, VND118,000, VND169,000 and VND134,000 at Big C Hai Phong, and VND159,900, VND118,000, VND188,500 and VND118,000 at GO! Ben Tre.

Nguyen Thi Bich Van, Head of Communications, Central Retail in Vietnam, said: “GO!/Big C has worked closely with suppliers to implement the fresh pork non-profit sale programme to join hands to stabilise the pork market during the Tet season, and support consumers to be able to buy fresh and healthy pork, and prepare for a warm Tet."

In August 2020, during the second wave of Covid-19 outbreak in Viet Nam, GO!/Big C launched a non-profit fresh pork sale programme to ensure that customers could be able to buy fresh pork at the best price, she said. — VNS
