BAT Vietnam makes efforts to create best workplace recognised with prestigious award

British American Tobacco Vietnam (BAT Vietnam) was recently certified as a Top Employer in 2024 by the Top Employers Institute, a global authority with nearly 30 years’ standing.

BAT Vietnam certified as a top employer for a fourth time.

This is the fourth time (2019, 2020, 2023 and 2024) BAT Vietnam has been recognised as one of only 10 companies in Việt Nam with proven best people practices by this  prestigious global institution.

BAT Vietnam scored above global benchmarks in 18 out of 20 sub-categories in the HR Best Practices Survey conducted and evaluated by the institute.

It achieved a perfect score in seven categories: Business Strategy, People Strategy, Leadership, Employer Branding, Purpose & Values, Ethics & Integrity, and Organisation & Change.

This reflects the great alignment with the company’s people-focused goals in 2024 strategy.

Top Employers Institute is well known as the global authority on recognising excellence in HR practices.

Through the Top Employers Institute Certification Programme, participating companies are validated, certified and recognised as an employer of choice.

In 2024, the Top Employers Institute certified more than 2,300 organisations in 121 countries and territories. These certified top employers positively impact the lives of over 12 million employees globally.

The 2024 Top Employer certification demonstrates BAT Vietnam’s commitment to creating values and promoting outstanding conditions so that employees can always develop and fulfil their careers as well as put their people as the root of a company’s every success.

As for its people strategy, the company is strongly interested in rebooting succession and talent development and boasts having 46 per cent women in management roles.

The company has launched the Human Deal programme for management. This is seen as a conversation about life stages for the people working for the company to better understand priorities at work and in life.

Recognising employees’ contributions through tier awards or BAT awards plays a key role in the strategy.

As for the leadership, more than 100 employees from various management levels have gone through leadership training courses. The company is also committed to people development via coaching, mentoring, sharing, etc.

With respect to organisation and change, BAT Vietnam always maintains common interest clubs such as the Sports Club as well as the Employee Assistance Programme service for year round wellbeing.
