Bamboo Airways appoints new CEO

Bamboo Airways Joint Stock Company has appointed Nguyen Manh Quan as its new CEO from July 27, 2022.

Quan holds a PhD in economics from the University of Transport and Communications, and graduated from HCM National Academy of Politics and Administration with an advanced degree in political theory.

He has held the position of Deputy General Director of Bamboo Airways since June 2020.

Since September 2020, he has held the position of Executive Deputy General Director of the company.

Previously, he had 30 years of working experience in large Vietnamese agencies and enterprises in the fields of aviation, services, commerce such as the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnam Airlines Corporation, Noi Bai Aviation Service Joint Stock Company, Thien Minh Aviation Joint Stock Company, Vinpearl Company.

Also on July 29, Bamboo Airways announced its decision for Dang Tat Thang to stop holding the position of CEO from July 27.

Since its establishment in 2017, under the leadership of Thang, Bamboo Airways has accomplished many great achievements in operation, business and service provision such as: obtaining the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certificate in the first year of operation; being the first private airline to operate a chain of First Lounges at key airports.

He also helped Bamboo become the first private airline to operate wide-body aircraft and regional jets; deploying many first nonstop routes in history, connecting emerging tourist destinations such as Con Dao, Rach Gia, Dien Bien; establishing the first international 5-star airline service orientation in Viet Nam; having the highest rate of on-time flight in the industry for three consecutive years and an absolute safety rate of 100 per cent.

Bamboo Airways has been awarded a host of prestigious aviation award categories by domestic and international agencies and media, including the airline with the best service in Viet Nam, Asia’s leading regional airline, the favorite carrier of golfers in Viet Nam, Most Improved Airline in Asia, and Best Cabin Crew in Asia.

The position transfer of Bamboo Airways’ CEO from Thang to Quan is part of the senior management personnel consolidation, in order to meet the goal of accelerating the process of restructuring and selecting of strategic investors of FLC Group.

This will create a solid foundation for Bamboo Airways to move faster and more sustainably towards its long-term development goals. — VNS
