Airbus has been cooperating with the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) in developing aerospace talent and preparing future world-class professionals.

Following a Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2016, Airbus has supported the establishment of USTH's Aeronautics Department. This includes creating long-term sustainable education programmes, offering a Bachelor's degree in partnership with Bricks by Aerospace Valley and a Master's in International Air Transport Operations Management in partnership with ENAC (Ecole Nationale de l'Aviation Civile), both esteemed European educational institutions.

To date, around 100 students across three cohorts have graduated from the Bachelor’s programme.

The successful collaboration, which includes partnerships with key companies in the local aviation industry such as Vietnam Airlines and Vietnam Airlines Engineering Company (VAECO), was celebrated during a ceremony in Hà Nội on Thursday.

Director of International Cooperation at Airbus, Alessandra Erre said: “This collaboration has not only strengthened ties within the aerospace community, but has also propelled advancements in technology and education. Together with our partners, we have exemplified the power of teamwork and innovation, driving positive change and fostering sustainable growth within the aviation sector.

"Airbus’ partnership with USTH is one of several agreements the company has in Việt Nam, underscoring its commitment to remaining a key player in the country’s aerospace ecosystem development.”

Việt Nam is a key market for Airbus in the Asia-Pacific region, with more than 200 aircraft operating in local airline fleets and another 107 scheduled for delivery. The company aims to help Việt Nam achieve its ambition of becoming a key player in the global aerospace industry.

Airbus’ aircraft development programmes have offered job opportunities to 550 Vietnamese skilled workers, and this figure is projected to reach 1,200 in this decade. — VNS
