HCM CITY (Biz Hub) – Malaysian airline Air Asia launched a direct air route connecting Penang City, Malaysia, to HCM City earlier this week.

The flight will take 1 hour and 40 minutes one way and will operate on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. It departs from HCM City at 1.35pm (local time) and arrives in Penang at 4.15pm (local time). On the return trip, it departs from Penang at 12.20pm (local time) and arrives in HCM City at 1.05pm (local time).

Deputy Director of HCM City Department of Tourism Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa told baodautu.vn that the new route would better meet the growing travel demand of people from the two nations.

On the occasion of the launch, the carrier is offering discounted fares that must be booked by January 31, with a travelling period that extends until February 28. -VNS
