A full line-up of digital building management and energy distribution systems and transport charging was showcased at the ABB Electrification Innovation Day on May 20 in HCM City.

The ABB Electrification Innovation Day features solutions that help customers embrace the power of digitalisation to improve energy consumption, optimise performance and operation, and contribute to a lower-carbon future.

The event attracted about 200 experts and participants from consulting, EPC, real estate, and industrial companies.

"By leveraging the building blocks of digitalisation, such as service platforms, smart devices, cloud and advanced analytics, businesses have the opportunity to optimise electricity network flows and innovate with customer-centric products," said Noel Hupont, President, Electrification, ABB Vietnam.

"ABB Electrification is offering solutions to help businesses reduce cost and drive efficiency and contribute to Viet Nam moving toward becoming more sustainable."

The event also exhibited technologies and solutions, including a digital building management system, ABB Ability™ Energy and Asset Manager, ABB Ability™ Electrification Monitoring and Control ZEE600, an electric vehicle charging solution and UPS. They can save hundreds of thousands of kilowatt-hours per year and reduce the CO₂ footprint through better control of energy usage.

Viet Nam is considered one of Southeast Asia's most dynamic and stable countries. The increasing population, a rising appetite for goods and services, rapid urbanisation, and growing economic activities in industrial and service sectors exert increased pressure on energy supplies in Viet Nam. Its electricity demand is forecast to increase at a high rate over the coming years, with 8.5 per cent yearly for 2021-2030.

Meanwhile, rising energy costs are one of the biggest challenges facing businesses today. Therefore, the availability of adequate and reliable energy supply is an essential prerequisite for maintaining Viet Nam's enviable record of socially-inclusive economic growth and achieving the government's socio-economic development goals, as well as realising a green path in the context of deep integration with the global economy and rapid urbanisation and industrialisation. — VNS
