HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Fifty Vietnamese women with outstanding achievements to their credit feted with ‘Step Up' awards worth a total of VND1 billion (US$ 44,790) to mark International Women's Day (March 8).
The recipients of the award, instituted last year, were chosen after their remarkable stories were collected by the Vietnam Women's Union over the last six months.
The winners included entrepreneurs, scientists, rural women working in industrial manufacturing sector, those who've contributed significantly to the advancement of women, including helping change women's mindsets, as well as those who've engaged in charity work.
The award ceremony, with the participation of 150 members of the Viet Nam Women Union, was organized in Ha Noi by P&G Viet Nam and Ariel together with Viet Nam Women Union and Sai Gon Coop.
Organisers said the award was a symbol of respect and appreciation for the valuable contributions made by women to society's progress. — VNS
