Northern Ha Nam Province’s officials and representatives of Ha Nam-based Golf Truong An JSC broke ground for the construction of a new golf centre in the province on December 24.

The entire facility will span an area of 198ha at Ha Nam’s Kim Bang District’s Ba Sao Town, with total investment of over VND1 trillion (US$ 43.9 million). The project is divided into two phases, each of which includes 18 holes. Besides this, a clubhouse and resort villas will also be built.

Chairman of Ha Nam People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Dong said the project will meet the needs of entertainment and physical development of the provincial community and people in the neighbouring regions, adding that it will also help in attracting domestic and foreign investment in Ha Nam Province.

When in operation, the project is expected to create jobs for some 600 people, Dong said.

The new golf centre is expected to be complete by the spring of 2018, Trường An JSC representatives said.

Ha Nam is located about 63 kilometers away of Hà Nội to the south. The province is among the 15 top destinations for investors in the country. As of June 2016, the province was home to nearly 600 valid investment projects, worth more than $4.95 billion.

In 2015, the locality ranked 31st in the provincial competitiveness index (PCI), up from 45th in 2014. — VNS
