After more than a year, Vietnam Airlines received its 10th Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner at Noi Bai International Airport in November.

The aircraft has played an important role in the carrier’s plans to expand its base and renovate its fleet.

Vietnam Airlines has operated Boeing 787 between Ha Noi and HCM City, and from the two cities to London, Frankfurt, Narita, Beijing, Sydney and Melbourne, with four-star-level service.
On May 12, Vietnam Airlines’ Boeing 787 flew out of Cat Bi airport, to celebrate its upgradation to an international airport in Hai Phong City. It highlighted the carrier’s commitment that it would operate at domestic airports.
On December 5, the airlines started operating Boeing 787 on a direct route between Viẹt Nam and Australia. Melbourne and Sydney were the fleet’s fifth and the sixth international destinations. Here, the aircraft flies over Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House.

On April 19, Vietnam Airlines’ Boeing 787-9 made an impression on golfers at the PGA Tour in Hilton Head Island, Georgia, US.
On July 6, 2015, the first Boeing 787-9 was delivered to Vietnam Airlines in Washington D.C. This is the first time Boeing brought a commercial aircraft to Washington’s Ronald Regan National Airport, flying around the Washington monument, an obelisk on the National Mall.
At the 51st Paris Airshow, held from June 15-21, 2015, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner performed a near vertical takeoff at Le Bourget airport, France.
