17 new bridges open to traffic in Long An

Seventeen bridges were officially open to traffic in the southern provice of Long An’s Moc Hoa District and Kien Tuong Town on Tuesday under the presence of former President Truong Tan Sang.

Moc Hoa District and Kien Tuong Town are on the Cambodian border.

The bridges cost more than VND18.09 billion (nearly US$778,000), of which nearly VND14.7 billion was funded by enterprises.

Truong Hai Auto Corporation (THACO), Dong Tam Group, Minh Hung Group and Hai Son Co Ltd funded a total of VND10.45 billion to build 10 bridges in Moc Hoa District.

In addition, seven new bridges built in Kien Tuong Town were funded by THACO, Rang Dong Plastic JSC and Viettel Group.

On the occasion, Minh Hung Group and Rang Dong Plastic JSC donated a total of 200 gifts worth VND60 million to poor households in Kien Tuong Town.

The Rural Bridges Programme, launched two years ago, is operated by the Nong Thon Viet magazine in collaboration with donors. — VNS
