Foxconn Viet Nam plans to open a television screen components factory in the northern province of Quang Ninh with a labour demand of 3,000 people.
Foxconn Viet Nam General Director Harry Zhuo met Quang Ninh Province's People’s Committee Vice Chairman Nguyen Van Thang late last week to seek investment opportunities.
The factory is planned to cover an area of 10ha in Dong Mai Industrial Park, Quang Yen Town with total investment of US$40 million in the first phase.
At the meeting, Thang affirmed that the province will accompany and facilitate the group in implementing the investment registration procedures in the shortest time. At the same time, the province will create favourable conditions for it in investment, attracting labour in the process of doing business and production.
As regards the reason for investing in Quang Ninh Province, according to Harry Zhuo, thanks to the achievements in economic development, synchronous and modern transport infrastructure, Quang Ninh has attracted a number of major economic groups.
This is also a good opportunity for Foxconn Group to invest in Quang Ninh, he added.
Established in 1974 in Taiwan, Foxconn is one of the world’s biggest electronics, information technology and computer corporations.
In March 2007, Foxconn started building factories in Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, and some other provinces of Viet Nam. — VNS
