To mark the fifth anniversary of their exclusive bancassurance partnership, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam and Sacombank have unveiled a VND1.75 billion (US$74,700) social and charity programme called ‘Connect to love - Happiness for the community’.

The programme aims to support disadvantaged people across the country, especially students in remote areas, children with cancer and poor people needing cataract surgery.

Under the programme, the two companies awarded scholarships worth VND250 million ($10,689) to 250 outstanding students in Quang Ninh, Quang Ngai, Thai Nguyen, Thua Thien – Hue, and Ha Noi in October and November last year.

Last month they collaborated with the Sponsoring Association of Poor Patients in HCM City to donate treatment costs and nutritional gifts worth a total of VND500 million to 25 child cancer patients being treated at the HCM City Oncology Hospital.

The programme will aid more than 1,000 poor patients in the provinces of Tay Ninh, Tra Vinh and Lam Dong in the near future.

As leading enterprises in the field of consulting and providing superior wealth protection and accumulation solutions, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam and Sacombank are always aware of their responsibility towards the community and society.

They have undertaken numerous practical and meaningful community activities in the past five years such as donating houses to poor people, sponsoring water purifier systems for schools and giving scholarships to thousands of students facing difficult circumstances valued at over VND5 billion ($201,300).

They will continue to be involved with such humanitarian activities over all 20 years of their exclusive partnership.
