DONG NAI (Biz Hub) – Taiwan's Kenda Rubber Industrial Co has been granted a licence to construct a tyre factory, worth US$160 million, in the southern Dong Nai Province's Giang Dien Industrial Zone.
The 42ha factory, which will use rubber material from Dong Nai and other provinces to produce tyres, is expected to earn an export revenue of $200 million to $300 million each year, generating 4,000 to 5,000 local jobs.
This is the second factory in which Kenda has invested in Viet Nam, after its first factory in the Ho Nai Industrial Zone in Trang Bom District with an investment capital of $100 million.
During the ceremony held on Tuesday to hand over the licence, Chairman of Dong Nai People's Committee Dinh Quoc Thai praised Kenda for once again choosing the province to expand their business operations. The chairman said he hoped the company would soon implement its project to effectively contribute to the provincial socio-economic development. —VNS
