HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Asia-America Gateway (AAG) undersea cable is expected to function as usual by 5:40pm on June 13 and will become fully operational on June 15.
This was stated in a press release issued by the Viet Nam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) on June 10.
Earlier, the cable was said to be under repair and maintenance until June 17.
Local internet service providers proactively transferred their internet capacity to land routes, fibre optics, and satellite systems to ensure uninterrupted connection for their customers.
In operation since 2009, the segment of the 20,000-km cable in Viet Nam had been found cut several times, slowing the Internet connection between the country and others. — VNS
