Conglomerate Vingroup will officially launch four mid-range models of Vsmart smartphones on December 14 at the Vincom Centre Landmark 81 in HCM City.
The phones are being built at the Vsmart smartphone manufacturing factory in Dinh Vu-Cat Hai industrial park in the northern port city of Hai Phong.
Through the investment in the manufacturing factory, including the ownership of the whole production chain from research, design and production to product price optimisation and distribution, Vingroup believes Vsmart products will have significant competitive advantages in the market.

Vingroup is expected to launch 10 more Vsmart smartphones with different features in 2019. Along with Vinfast automobiles, Vsmart is expected to contribute to promoting Viet Nam’s industry and bringing Vietnamese brands to the world.
Ten days before the launch of Vsmart smartphones, the factory opened its doors for visits by experts and the media for the first time.
“We are able to produce Vsmart products at the highest quality to complete in the global market,” Vsmart project manager Jon Goitia told Viet Nam News. “This is an important milestone for us.”

“We have focused on quality,” he said. “About 50 per cent of the factory is checking and validating quality and reliability. That is the way we can guarantee the product is in perfect condition and will meet the customer’s expectations.”
“We also have laboratories in Spain and in Viet Nam to test the phone products through drop and bending tests,” Goitia said. “We are combining resources in both Europe and Indonesia to speed up the process and bring these phones into production.”
After seeing the world’s most modern equipment from Germany, the US and Japan at the factory, former deputy minister of Post and Communications Dr. Mai Liem Truc, believed the factory will produce good quality products.

“What impressed me was the process and production line that was under strict control, from surface mount technology (SMT) to assembly,” said Truc. “Each step is under tight supervision and inspection.”
“With the business philosophy of ‘good product, good promotion and very good after-sale service,’ the new smartphones will take a good position in the Vietnamese market right away,” said Truc.
