Vietnamobile has decided to discontinue its “Thanh SIM” prepaid plan from January and focus instead on “Sieu thanh SIM” prepaid SIM cards.

Existing Thanh SIM subscribers will not be affected and will continue to enjoy free data by topping up for at least VND20,000 per month, or can upgrade to Siêu thánh SIM to enjoy both free voice and data for VND40,000 a month.

The launch of Thanh SIM last January met with an excellent response, and Vietnamobile upgraded it into the super low-cost Sieu thanh SIM last May.

The latter is a voice and data integrated product that offers unlimited 4G data usage (4GB per day), free intra-network calls and SMSs and calls to other networks at VND550 per minute.

It has quickly become the company’s key product.

Vietnamobile is the only foreign-invested mobile telecom operator in Viet Nam. Its two major shareholders are Hanoi Telecom Corporation and Hong Kong behemoth Hutchison Asia Telecommunications Limited. — VNS
