HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Viettel Telecom, a member company of the Viettel Group, on April 20 launched its own over-the-top (OTT) service that provides free Internet-based calls and messaging to users.

The service, named Mocha Messenger, has been developed and used on an experiment basis since last December. It now has 30,000 users and Viettel expects to raise the number to one million this year.

Besides basic functions such as text messages, group chat, voice calls and photos, it allows users to listen to music together on the Keeng.vn social networking site integrated in the application. Viettel offers free 3G data to users accessing this site for two months after the installation of the app.

There are also voice stickers that include sounds and pictures with interesting sentences.

The app is available on Google Play and App Store. — VNS
