HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Ministry of Information and Communications announced the rules and guidelines for the ASEAN ICT Awards 2015 on April 9.
The awards ceremony for the ASEAN ICT Awards will be held in Da Nang City in November. It will be part of the Meeting of the ASEAN Telecommunications and IT Ministers (TELMIN), for which Viet Nam is playing host for the first time.
The awards will be officially launched in the ASEAN region on April 15. Enterprises are required to submit the products competing at the event in their respective countries before July 15. Each member country will be allowed to nominate a maximum of three products in each category.
Awards will be handed out in six categories: the public sector, the private sector, corporate social responsibility, digital content, start-ups, and research and development.
Organisations and enterprises must send information about the products and five or seven-minute video clips introducing them in English. The products must assure the audience of their intellectual property rights.
First introduced in 2012, AICTA aims to recognize the best ICT achievement among entrepreneurs and offer business opportunities and promote trade relations, thus strengthening ICT and spreading community awareness in ASEAN, both locally and internationally.
Earlier, Vietnamese enterprises had won several ASEAN ICT Awards. In 2012, FPT IS, a member company of the FPT Corporation, won a gold medal for its eHospitel product and a bronze for its eGov product in both the private and public sectors.
Last year, Vietnam Cyberspace Security Technology JSC was awarded a bronze medal for VNCS WEB Monitoring in the research and development sector. — VNS
