HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Nearly 2,100 websites and 907 host computers in Viet Nam were attacked in August for the purpose of spamming, according to the Information Security Department under the Ministry of Information and Communications.
The numbers have reduced compared to July when 2,198 websites and 1,007 host computers were attacked.
In August, 57 per cent of attacked websites have ".com" domain name, 25 per cent have ".vn" domain name and 10 per cent have ".org" domain name.
Websites of some state agencies were also spammed such as vecita.gov.vn, cpi.khcn-moit.gov.vn, stnmt.gialai.gov.vn and buonmathuot.daklak.gov.vn.
The department also reported big bonets in August including Virut, Ramnit, Aaeh, ZeroAccess and Sality. — VNS
