HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Viet Nam's Nguyen Thi Hien Gia has won the bronze medal in the Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 category at the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship (MOSWC) 2015.

Gia beat several thousand candidates from 80 countries at the 14th edition of the contest.

About 600,000 people competed in the Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint categories.

Of these, 150,000 candidates were shortlisted for the final round.

The prestigious event was organised by Certiport, a Pearson VUE business that is the world leader in performance-based certification exams and practice test solutions for academic institutions, workforce and corporate technology markets.

The Viettel Group was the main sponsor of the event.

Tong Viet Trung, Viettel's deputy general director, said MOSWC proved the power of technology in education, bringing to young generations experiences that would benefit them in the future.

"We are impressed by the candidates and what they have hoarded while studying for future jobs, as they are equipped with valuable Microsoft software skills," he said.

Certiport will hold the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship 2016 in Orlando, Florida. — VNS
