HA NOI (Biz Hub) – Google reduced the fees for Google Apps for Work by 40 per cent for five markets, including Viet Nam, on September 16, Global Integrated Management System Co Ltd (Gimasys) said.

The other four markets are Egypt, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines.

The fees have been cut to US$3 per account for monthly packages and $30 per account for yearly packages.

This is an attempt by the technology giant to expand the application of cloud-based solutions in Viet Nam, seeing the huge potential of a country with a population of more than 90 million and an estimated 500,000 businesses.

Nearly three years ago, the fees were cut in India – the second most populous country in the world – which rules the information technology outsourcing realm.

Pham Si Hai, managing director of Gimasys, which is the authorised partner to provide Google Apps solutions on cloud computing platforms for businesses in Viet Nam, said the soluation would help reduce IT costs and complexities, while helping employees to work better together and be more productive.

Le Thi Mai of Gimasys said cost was among the greatest concerns of Vietnamese businesses, which deterred them from using the solution, despite getting huge benefits.

She said the use of Google Apps for Work remained modest in Viet Nam, adding that the fee cuts would make it more affordable for a larger number of businesses.
