Komite Anti-Dumping Indonesia (KADI) under Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade officially decided to continue applying the anti-dumping tax of 3.9 per cent on the products from Viet Nam for an additional five-year period.

According to the KADI’s conclusion on the sunset review of the anti-dumping taxes levied on Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP) film imported from Viet Nam and Thailand, the tax rate applied for Thailand’s products is 28.4 per cent.

Earlier, KADI initiated an anti-dumping investigation into Vietnamese BOPP films in 2015, following the request of local firms PT TriasSantosaTbk and PT Lotte Packaging. These two companies claimed their profit had dropped due to imports.

According to the Department of Trade Defence under Viet Nam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade, the products subject to the investigation were BOPP films imported from Viet Nam and Thailand, coded HS 3920.20.10, 3920.20.99 and 3920.20.91.

On December 12, 2017, KADI began the sunset review to decide whether it would continue anti-dumping measures. — VNS
