FRANCE (Biz Hub) – The first Airbus A320, the best-selling single-aisle aircraft which VietJet has purchased from Airbus under a deal finalised last February, is now undergoing final assembly in Toulouse, France.

The acquisition plan covers VietJet orders for 63 aircraft and 30 purchase rights from Airbus, as well as seven more aircraft leased from third-party lessors.

VietJet will start taking deliveries of its new A320 family fleet in the last quarter of this year. The aircraft will join an existing fleet of 16 leased A320s of the fast-growing low-cost carrier and will be operating on the airline's expanding network of domestic and regional routes. – VNS
