HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Viet Nam will become one of the third-largest aviation markets in the world, according to Singapore's Lianhe Zaobao (United Morning) newspaper.
Viet Nam's demand for air travel achieved double-digit growth in 2013, creating opportunities for major aircraft manufacturers such as Boeing and Airbus.
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) forecast that by 2014 Viet Nam would become the world's third-fastest growing market for international passengers and freight after China and Brazil.
The association predicted the Vietnamese aviation market would transport 34 to 36 million passengers and 850,000 to 930,000 tonnes of cargo by 2015 and 52 to 59 million passengers and 1.4-1.6 million tonnes of cargo by 2019. — VNS
