HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang has approved the Phan Thiet Airport Master Plan by 2020 with an outlook to 2030.
Under the plan, the airport will cover an area of 543 ha in Thien Nghiep Commune, Phan Thiet City to serve both civil aviation and military services.
By 2020, the airport will serve taxi, general and rescue flights while by 2030 it will carry out regular flights to meet more demand.
The master plan also expected to build a 5,000sq.m passenger terminal with the capacity to serve 300 passengers per hour for the next 15 years.
To prepare for the plan, land clearance of more than 500ha for the airport must take place before December 15, according to Thang.—VNS
