HA NOI( Biz Hub) — Rohto Mentholatum Viet Nam inaugurated its second factory in the southern Binh Duong province on May 12.

The factory is based in the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) in the province, where the firm's first factory is also located.

Masaya Saito, general director of Rohto Mentholatum Vietnam, told local newspapers that the second factory would increase the company's investment in Vietnam from US$18 million to $33 million, adding that it would help the company expand its business to meet the domestic and export demand.

Spread over ​​21,000 square metres, the factory produces skin care products, said the general director.

The Japanese Rohto Group entered the local market in 1996 and built its first $18 million factory in VSIP three years later.

According to the general director, the setting up of the second factory also confirms the group's commitment to invest in the long-term in Viet Nam. —VNS
