HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Viet Nam has earned US$1.022 billion in revenues from pepper exports, which places the commodity on the list of Vietnamese exports worth at least $1 billion for the first time.
According to the Viet Nam Pepper Association, as of mid-September, pepper exports totaled 136,000 tonnes, an increase of nearly 4,000 tonnes in volume and $100 million in revenue from that of the entire 2013.
Vietnamese pepper accounts for 30 per cent of the world's total production and 50 per cent of the world's total exports, and its largest markets are in the United States, Saudi Arabia, the Netherlands and India.— VNS
