HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The conglomerate Masan Group has opened Masan MB - a manufacturing hub - to produce branded foods and beverages at Nam Cam Industrial Zone in Nghe An Province's Nghi Loc District.

Seokhee Won, Deputy CEO of Masan Group, said, "The commissioning of Masan MB is special to Masan Group because many of our colleagues are from Nghe An. To be able to "return home" and make a positive contribution to the socio-economic development of the province makes us extremely proud and honored."

The 11-hectare state-of-the-art site will place its manufacturing footprint across the country as it seeks to move closer to consumers, satisfy regional taste preferences and build a strong tie with local communities through sustainable and responsible business development.

Masan Group's new site has been built at a cost of VND1.2 trillion (US$53.3 million) to manufacture instant noodle and fish sauce. It is also Masan Group's first fish-sauce factory in the north of Viet Nam.

Masan MB has been designed to produce 50 million instant noodle packs, and 10 million litres of fish sauce, per month.

Masan MB will employ 1,000 workers, paying VND3 trillion ($133.3 million) in taxes to the State, save VND400 billion of logistics costs for the company and grant scholarships worth VND200 million ($8.89 million) for local students, as well as provide job opportunities for them after graduation. — VNS
