LAM DONG (Biz Hub) — The central highlands province has put into operation the Dong Nai 2 hydropower plant, which provides 263.8 million kilowatts of electricity per hour to the National Power Grid.
The plant, which took eight years to build, is a project of Trung Nam Power company under the Trung Nam Group. The VND3.5 trillion (US$167 million) plant was built with two turbines and has a total capacity of 70 Megawatt (MW).
The power plant can provide electricity for 250,000 homes, along with power for socio-economic development in the Central Highlands region, and is one of the largest private hydro-power plants in Viet Nam. — VNS
