TOKYO (Biz Hub) — Chairwoman and CEO of Vietnam Dairy Products (Vinamilk), Mai Kieu Lien, was presented with an award at the 20th Nikkei Asia Prizes in Tokyo today.
Lien, the pioneer behind Vietnam's dairy produce market, won the economic and business innovation category for her work.
Speaking at the event, she said: "We are motivated and determined to becoming Viet Nam's No. 1 symbol of nutritional and healthy products."
Lien has decided to donate her three million JPY ($24,816) prize money to the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) to provide relief for children in Nepal after the recent earthquakes.
The Nikkei Asia Prizes were created in 1996 to commemorate the 120th anniversary of Nikkei Inc's main Japanese-language newspaper, the Nikkei. It honours individuals and organisations who have contributed to the region's development and prosperity. — VNS
