HA NOI ( Biz Hub) — Kim Bao Son International Ltd. of Taiwan officially launched the construction of its second medical glove factory in southern Dong Nai Province last December 2.

The US$14-million factory, spanning a 12ha area in the Giang Dien Industrial Zone of Trang Bom District, is designed to produce 7,500 tonnes of medical gloves per year for domestic and regional markets when it becomes fully operational by late 2015.

This is the company's second glove factory in Dong Nai. The first one, worth $12 million, is based in the Long Thanh Industrial Zone.

Lin Kua Tang, the company chairman, revealed that the first factory has been operating successfully since 2004, so the company decided to expand in the province.

Provincial figures show that Taiwan is the largest foreign investor in Dong Nai, with 285 projects worth $4.8 billion. — VNS
