HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — The Viet Nam International Supporting Industries Exhibition (VSI Expo) 2015 opens at Tan Binh Exhibition and Convention Centre in HCM City on August 27 with the participation of more than 140 domestic and foreign businesses.

The four-day exhibition accommodates 220 booths introducing key products of the supporting industries in the fields of textiles and garments, footwear, electronics and informatics and automotive production, as well as mechanics and high-tech supporting industries.

Businesses participating in the exhibition will have opportunities to introduce their products to both domestic and foreign partners and to become suppliers for producers and projects in Viet Nam.

Within the framework of the 2015 National Trade Promotion Program, the second VSI Expo aims to create advantageous opportunities for Vietnamese businessmen to not only popularise their high-tech supporting products amongst domestic and foreign partners but also to attract further foreign investment.

The exhibition is also aimed at encouraging domestic businesses to invest in advanced technology to produce high-quality products that meet market demand and improve their competitiveness.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai said the exhibition would contribute to bolstering the development of the supporting industries in HCM City, in particular, and the whole country, in general.

The exhibition has become an attractive destination for businesses operating in the supporting industries and has served as an effective tool to connect domestic and foreign businesses, he said.

He noted that businesses should actively attempt to gain access to foreign partners and importers to introduce products and boost exchanges with businesses operating in the supporting industries. The latter allows Vietnamese businesses to update their information, gain technology transfers, and gradually introduce products from Viet Nam's supporting industries to the global supply chain. — VNS
