HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — Foreign direct investment (FDI) into HCM City as of December 15 has reached US$3.21 billion, an increase of 94 per cent compared with the same period last year, according to figures from HCM City Department of Planning and Investment.
The figure includes registered capital of $2.84 billion for 414 new FDI projects, nearly triple last year's figure. Most of the investment was in the manufacturing and real estate sectors.
In addition, 133 operational projects have received added capital totalling $371.2 million, 53.5 per cent of the figure in 2013. — VNS
