HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Hoa Binh Construction and Real Estate Corporation on May 28 announced it had won the bid for the first phase of Tan Son Nhat international airport's T2 terminal expansion project.
The project, in which the Airport Corporation of Viet Nam (ACV) has invested, will be divided into two phases. The first phase will see the eastward expansion of the terminal, while in the second phase, the western expansion will be implemented.
In the first phase, Hoa Binh Corporation will lead five domestic contractors, and will be in charge of building composition, architecture and infrastructure technology, with special facilities for the airport. The corporation's bid package is worth nearly VND600 billion (US$22.52 million), equal to nearly 55 per cent of the total project's worth.
The construction is scheduled to begin in 14 months.
Once completed, the terminal will be able to handle about 13 million passengers per year, three million more than its current capacity.
The corporation previously carried out several projects for the ACV, including building terminals for Can Tho and Phu Quoc airports and a management building for the Southern Airports Corporation. — VNS
