France to support PPP projects in Viet Nam

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Egis and Adetef groups from France will help develop public private partnership (PPP) projects for the Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI).

The assistance will be given following the signing of a US$3.5 million contract by the two sides on July 22 in Ha Noi. The amount will be funded by the Asian Development Bank and the French Development Agency.

Egis and Edetef will be in charge of advising the ministry on strategy, institutions, finance, environment and society.

At the signing ceremony, Fleur Pellerin, Secretary of State for Foreign Trade, Tourism Promotion and French Nationals Abroad, said that the contract shows Viet Nam's belief in and acknowledgement of French capability in infrastructure development. She added that the cooperation would bring great opportunities for French enterprises in the future.

Egis is a French engineering and consulting group, working in the fields of transport, urban development, buildings, energy, water and environment.

Adetef is a public interest group set up by the French government, the French Development Agency, the Caisse des dépots et consignations, the Institut Télécom and the Mines ParisTech group. It is the agency for international technical cooperation of the economic and financial ministries, and of the Ministry for Sustainable Development. The agency provides national governments and public authorities with cutting-edge technical expertise from French public sector experts in these areas. — VNS
