ExxonMobil returns to Viet Nam

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — US oil giant ExxonMobil has returned to Viet Nam after a five-year absence.

It has signed up PAN International petroleum JSC as its strategic distributor for the northern region and TAT Petroleum Viet Nam for the central and southern regions, and Equator Company Limited to distribute oil to ships and other vessels in the coastal areas.

Speaking at a press conference on November 17 to announce the distributorships, Yasser Al-Azzawi, ExxonMobil's general manager, Asia Pacific business development and distributor market, said Viet Nam had become one of the fastest and most important markets in the world and ExxonMobil was delighted to develop its business in the country.

ExxonMobil's products are meant mainly for automobiles, buses, utility vehicles, and trucks.

The company is the largest of the world's supermajors with daily production of 3.9 million barrels of oil equivalent. Its revenues in third quarter this year were US$67.3 billion. —VNS
