HA NOI (Biz Hub) — South Korea's CJ Group will invest US$500 million in three key Vietnamese sectors of agriculture, entertainment and logistics in 2016.

The figure will be larger than its total investment of $400 million in the country over the past 20 years.

The CJ Group will increase investment in agriculture through mergers and acquisitions and basic investment in the value chain this year.

Chang Bok Sang, the group's chairman and general director, said on Thursday that the firm had bought four per cent of VISSAN's shares.

Agriculture has been the group's strength, with about half of its investment in Viet Nam being in the sector. The CJ Group aims to invest heavily in Viet Nam by 2020, its second largest investment after China. — VNS
