HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — Vietnam Airlines announced today a partnership with Citibank under which customers using the bank's cards can accrue miles.
In September the US bank has issued a Visa credit card called Citi PremierMiles, and following the new deal, they can transfer the miles to Vietnam Airlines's frequent flyer programme, Lotusmiles.
A slew of new initiatives are currently under discussion between the two companies, with the award of bonus miles for spending on Vietnam Airlines agreed and scheduled for launch in early 2016.
Raul Paredes, Citibank Viet Nam's consumer business manager, said, "The partnership is expected to deliver significant value to affluent travelers who can benefit from Citi's extensive retail network and Vietnam Airlines' world-class aviation services."
Vietnam Airlines flies on 94 routes to 21 domestic and 29 international destinations with more than 360 daily flights.
It has a fleet of 86 aircraft comprising Boeing 787 Dreamlines, Airbus A350-900 XWB, Boeing 777, and Airbus A330.
Launched in 1999, its Lotusmiles has nearly 820,000 members. — VNS
